Chief Executive, Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants

Brian’s involvement with CAPA commenced in 2008. CAPA is the regional organization recognized by IFAC as representing PAOs in, or with an interest in, Asia Pacific. Brian is also an independent chair/member on a number of Australian public sector audit and risk committees involving state planning and development, transport, health and emergency services. Formerly, Brian was a partner in global accounting firms and was the President of CPA Australia in 2002. He was honored with a Centenary Medal for services to the accounting profession in Australia in 2003.

Executive Director, Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants

Rachel joined CAPA in June 2023. Prior to her current role, she held senior positions at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) from 2012 to 2023. As Head of Education and Regional Consultant, Rachel was responsible for advancing education and capacity building initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.

From 2008 to 2011, Rachel served as the Technical Director of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). In this capacity, she led the Institute’s technical department, fostering collaboration with regulatory bodies and international organizations. She also played a pivotal role in standard-setting, training and implementation support for the accounting profession in Malaysia. Additionally, Rachel contributed as a Technical Advisor to the IFAC Developing Nations Committee and Small-and-Medium Practices Committee.

Rachel began her career as an auditor with BDO Malaysia. She is a Fellow member of ACCA and a member of MIA. Beyond her professional roles, Rachel also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director for a public listed company in Malaysia.
