Heather Smith

Heather Smith sits at the intersection of accounting, education and content creation. She educates the accounting community to positively embrace Accounting Apps. Or as she refers to them, ‘her robots’. Heather shares her love for Accounting Apps, learnings and observations of the accounting industry through content creation. Heather hosts an accounting technology podcast called Cloud Stories, curates an Accounting Apps newsletter, is a columnist with Acuity magazine, and is the author of ten books including Xero for Dummies.

Heather has run a virtual micro-management accounting practice since the early 2000’s. Leveraging her accounting qualification as a global passport, she work with clients across the world, and travel extensively speaking at accounting conferences. She's obsessed with how effective automation and integration can unlock and produce timely clean quality data, to surface information for fast informed analysis and decision making. Heather is an Ambassador for Innovation for the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand CACatalyst initiative, helping to develop and deliver education programs for modernising SMPs. She's also a host of ACCA’s The Practice Room initiative dedicated to supporting SMPs as well as a member of the ACCA SME and Technology forum.

Ms. Georgina Muchai is a Technical Advisor to CPA Jonah Wala, a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) with effect from 1st January 2023 nominated by Public Sector Accounting Standards Board-Kenya.

Ms. Muchai is currently the Director Accounting Standards at PSASB- Kenya. She previously worked as a technical advisor with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and as an auditor with Deloitte and Touche. She also serves as a member of the Professional Standards Committee of ICPAK and a member of the Technical Advisory Group on public value management at the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).

Ms. Muchai was, in 2020, awarded with a certificate of commendation by Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Kenya for the contribution made towards advancing the accountancy profession in Kenya.

She has an MSC and a Degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University respectively. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of ICPAK.

Fadi is from Lebanon, and before joining the IAASB, he spent 20 years working with Deloitte in various offices in the Middle East. Fadi was an Audit and Assurance Director at Deloitte, providing services to clients in different industries. Amongst his roles, Fadi served as National Professional Practice Director for Deloitte Lebanon, Office Learning Leader for Deloitte Qatar as well as participating in different quality control programs in the region.

In total, Fadi has over 23 years of experience in audit, assurance, and advisory services.

Ida joined the IAASB in February 2023, bring more than 18 years of experience in the auditing profession to her new position.

Ida previously worked in Deloitte China’s national office. Prior to moving to the IAASB, she served in various roles in engagement monitoring and acted as a liaison to provide collaborative project management support to a group of industry subject matter specialists. Between 2020 to 2021, Ida was seconded to Deloitte Global and worked on projects related to audit quality monitoring.

Ida is a Certified Public Accountant. Her professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.

Managing Director, Deloitte Global Regulatory

Christine became the chair of the Transnational Auditors Committee of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) in January 2023. She is a member of the Standards Setting Working Group (SSWG) and the Regulatory Working Group (RWG), and she chairs a professional working group on cross-border registration and reporting.

Currently, as a managing director in Deloitte Global Regulatory, Christine works together with regulatory leaders in Deloitte firms around the world to monitor emerging regulatory developments and actively engages with regulators and other corporate reporting ecosystem stakeholders to encourage sensible, sound regulation that supports the public interest.

Christine helped establish the Deloitte Global Regulatory group, which coordinates with a network of regulatory leaders in countries and with professionals from other large global accounting networks to develop regulatory positions regarding critical regulatory issues. She also contributed to the International Forum for Accountancy Development (IFAD), which developed and implemented a response to marketplace needs and regulatory concerns, bringing together the large international accounting networks, IFAC, the World Bank, IOSCO, IMF, OECD, Financial Stability Forum, and the Basel Committee (among others) and published the GAAP Convergence 2002.
