Karen Leung

Karen is a Manager at the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB), focusing on sustainability reporting technical projects.

After her initial exposure to sustainability through a series of workshops with the Nature Conservancy, her career in sustainability and green finance began with the Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Financial Services team at EY in their Hong Kong office. Since then, she has also worked with the Blockchain and Climate Institute, where she engaged with climate-related matters at an international level. Her diverse experiences include sustainability and climate risk advisory, sustainability reporting, sustainable finance assurance, greenhouse gas accounting, and climate risk modelling through GIS.

Karen holds a MSc Sustainable and Green Finance from the National University of Singapore, where she collaborated with WWF Singapore on bankable nature-based solutions. She also holds a BSc (Hons) Geology from the University of Edinburgh, where her academic pursuits also led her to the University Centre in Svalbard, where she studied permafrost and its associated climate and avalanche risks. She is also a holder of the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate, issued by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

Jack Bisset

Jack became the Technical Advisor for member Angela Ryan in May 2024

Jack’s work has focused on sustainability reporting in New Zealand, including issues of connectivity with financial reporting. Jack played a leading role in developing and drafting the strategy, scenario analysis and transition planning aspects of New Zealand’s Climate Standards and related guidance.

Prior to joining the External Reporting Board, Jack worked at New Zealand’s Ministry for the Environment. Jack helped to develop the policy behind the mandatory climate-related disclosure regime. Jack was also involved with developing the Adaptation Reporting Power in the Climate Change Response Act, the Ministry for the Environment’s own climate-related disclosures and scenario analysis, and a range of related policy matters.

Ruth Gardiner Forbes

Ruth Forbes is President and CEO of FortisTCI in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) and is one of the few female CEOs in the utility sector serving the Caribbean region. Under her leadership, FortisTCI is focused on achieving a supportive regulatory environment to transition to a greener, smarter energy future. 

 Prior to assuming the leadership role, Mrs. Forbes was Senior Vice President of Corporate Services, Chief Financial Officer, and Company Secretary and has 17 years of experience in utilities. She has been instrumental in driving transformative change and innovation, having had oversight of several business functions, including finance, internal audit, legal, information technology, customer service, corporate communications, human resources, and supply chain management.
 
Mrs. Forbes has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Barry University. She holds the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations. Mrs. Forbes also completed the Directors Education Program and received the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors through the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.
 
She serves as a Director on the boards of FortisOntario and Fortis Belize Limited and is also a Director on the board of The Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC). She has served for almost three years as the Governor’s Appointed Member to the Public Accounts Committee of the Turks and Caicos Islands. 

 Mrs. Forbes joined IFAC’s Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Advisory Group in January 2024. She was nominated by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
 
Mrs. Forbes is a devout philanthropist and founder of “Jewels Ablaze”, an organization that empowers and supports girls and women.

Taylor Carter-Jones

Taylor Carter-Jones joined the IAASB in April 2024 as an Executive Assistant/Associate, supporting the IAASB team with many of projects and initiatives.

Taylor comes from a political background and previously worked for elected officials in Houston, Texas. Most recently she served as an executive assistant to the Harris County Precinct One Commissioner, Rodney Ellis, where she was able to assist a staff of 500 employees and 1.1 million constituents with numerous projects and take the lead on all planning for the Texas Legislative Internship Program. Taylor is based in our New York office.

Director of Professional Standards, Chinese Institute of CPAs

Dr. Tang is currently Director of Professional Standards, CICPA, focusing of developing and maintaining auditing standards and the code of ethics for Chinese professional accountants. He has been heavily involved in converging Chinese auditing and ethics standards with the International Standards on Auditing, issued by the International Audit and Assurance Standards Board, and the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, issued by the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants.

Dr. Tang joined CICPA as a non-practicing member in 1997. He is also a member of the CICPA Technical Guidance Committee as well as a Board Member for the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

Dr. Tang got his Ph.D. in accounting from the REMIN University in China. He got a MSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manchester and a master in accounting from Zhongnan University of Finance and economics. He studied trade economics in HUAZHONG University of Agriculture and qualified as a CPA in 1997.

Sripriya Kumar

Sripriya Kumar brings over 25 years of experience in Risk Advisory Services in addition to her experiences as a partner of SPR & Co, Chartered Accountants where Priya has advised large clients across a variety of industry domains both in India and abroad.

She presently serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Sundaram Finance Holdings Limited in addition to Directorships in ICAI Accounting Research Foundation and the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI which have been promoted by ICAI. In addition to her professional role, Priya also presently serves as an elected member on the Central Council of the ICAI (2022-25 and earlier in 2016-19), the apex body that is in charge of the affairs of the Institute.

Priya holds a graduated B.Com from The Ethiraj College for Women and is a registered CA with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
